Ever wondered how many Land Rover's there are still on the road? Well I did some digging and it turns out the DVLA publish the figures. Next time you think of breaking a Land Rover for parts remember there are not that many left.
Since we entered the 2018 Santana Trophy we thought we better get some off-road time in and test the equipment, people & the Land Rovers. We chose Salisbury Plain because it's roughly the same distance for all of us to get to and because there is plenty of space to get off-road.
Taking the bleed hose off to check it, although we had no idea what it did we thought it best to check it. Looks like the hoses are not meant to be removed from the injector, we guess it’s a throw away part. Well what do you know, as Andy squeezed the pipe like it was a teenager with acne and out came a oozing stream of a clay like substance. I guess that was why nothing was passing through it.
The FCX cubby box features two cup holders at the front, a slot for a radio or CB and a massive cubby box, all enclosed in solid metal. A robust lock on top means that someone is going to have to spend some time trying to break into this, it also locks the CB/Radio slot when the lid is closed. The cubby compartment is cavernous, I kept adding things and thinking there is still space for more.
Work has started on the Land Rover 110 300 Tdi to get it ready for a summer road trip, first job was to replace the rear exhaust section. The exhaust has rusted completely through between the back box and the tail pipe, the tail pipe was only held on by the hanger.
